Since 2012 CodeGreen has provided ongoing energy management and advisory services to help BlackRock achieve a 30% reduction in energy use across its 580,000 square foot corporate headquarters in Midtown Manhattan. BlackRock Inc. is a member of New York City’s Mayor’s Carbon Challenge, a program that asks participants to pledge a 30% in energy use in a ten year period. To-date CodeGreen has already helped BlackRock reduce their carbon footprint per person by more than 36% in just 3 years. CodeGreen has helped BlackRock identify energy conservation measures in their own spaces and worked with BlackRock to collaborate with their various landlords to identify energy savings measures that benefit the tenant and the landlord.
